John Gloeckler

Environmentalist, Musician, Badger
UW-Madison Online student, class of 2024

John overcame challenges, with support from friends and family, to finish what he started years ago – his bachelor’s degree.

Why did you choose UW–Madison?

I wanted to finish my degree where I started it 10+ years ago. Though I transferred to UW-Green Bay to take some courses, the only place I ever wanted to finish my degree was at UW–Madison.

What are your career plans and how will your UW–Madison education support these goals?

I want to leverage the business analytics and consumer trend skills that I’ve learned in my classes to complement my environmental studies certificate to become a sustainability professional and help organizations establish and meet their green goals.

What advice would you give others who are considering an online bachelor’s degree program?

There will always be obstacles in your life that will make going back to school difficult. These difficulties are made easier [at UW–Madison] with advisors who are eager to help plan your return to higher education.
