Transfer from associate degree to business bachelor’s with ease

Are you an associate degree student who wants your bachelor’s but faces roadblocks like credit transfer, time, money or complex admissions processes?

You’ve come to the right place. UW–Madison Online strives to provide an easier path to earning a bachelor’s degree in business.

Despite surveys indicating that nearly 80 percent of community college students aspired to earn a bachelor’s degree, only about a third transfer to a four-year institution, and fewer than half of those transfers go on to earn a bachelor’s degree within six years.*

UW–Madison Online partners with technical and community colleges to create seamless transfer pathways that address these challenges. This means students can apply previously earned credits from an associate degree directly toward a UW–Madison bachelor’s degree in business – and get support along the way.

“We are pleased to partner with technical and community colleges so that more students can benefit from a business education,” Wisconsin School of Business Dean Vallabh Sambamurthy said. “These programs will help students launch into meaningful careers.”

Flexibility and support – from home

Continuing your education from home offers incredible flexibility and convenience, allowing you to learn new skills or advance your career without the time and expense of a physical commute. This approach lets you tailor your learning schedule to fit your life, making professional and personal growth more accessible.

UW–Madison has established agreements with a growing list of technical and community colleges that outline which courses and degrees are accepted for credit in our online programs and guarantee admission if certain criteria are met. See a list of current partner schools

If you don’t see your school on the list, don’t worry. There are academic advisors available to review your transcripts and let you know what courses/credits will transfer.

“These degrees are going to prepare our graduates to strengthen our workforce, and they’re going to serve as additional resources for our employers,” said Nicolet College President Kate Ferrel. “Graduates will help our businesses and economy in the Northwoods thrive. Best of all, students are going to be able to stay here. They can use their skills to serve families, communities and businesses that they love so dearly.”
